I've been impressed by my phone in terms of reading -- and in playing with the font sizes. I still prefer smaller print to larger print, though; three years ago I had to get verifocals, which helps a lot. I'd been able to put off getting verifocals for a while due to my myopia, but when I finally got them, I was quite happy with them.

Through work, I was able to get an extremely discounted iPad, which sort of replaced Ian's dead laptop. Reading books on the Kindle or my phone seems like reading a paperback; reading them on the iPad makes it seem like reading a hardcover.

And really the only time I actually

I understand the money issue. (We only bought the iPad because of the work deal.) I use the library a lot. The books I buy for the Kindle tend to be ones marked down temporarily or ones not published in the UK that are a lot cheaper that way than in imported paper form; I've bought a few at 99p each. Thanks to Katrina, I also do some on-line surveys that pay in Amazon gift vouchers.
