I'm actually really good at remembering what books I have, despite
having a couple thousand. But I do have them catalogued for
insurance/replacement purposes (that's mainly what I use LibraryThing
for; I'm not interested in the social aspects). I also use Access to
keep track of them and my movie collection. It's probably overkill
but I used to be reasonably good with it, so it seemed like a good
idea at the time.

Just to keep my sanity and a SENSE of organization, I divide my books into categories.....cook books, bios, history, fantasy, horse stuff, etc. The when I want to find something, I can look for the category and skim the shelves for the book.
Leslie, who wishes to be better organized, but isn't!
