I've got it down as October 25, 1995, and I joined a few days later.
I also think it had been under discussion (by Galdrin and Rick, maybe?)
on rec.arts.sf-lovers for a week or so the creation date.

 I got here in 1999, I believe, and it seemed like you all already had DECADES of history!

They were very eventful years :)  I joined in the summer of 96, I want to say August.  It was the summer before my senior year of high school.  I don't want to think of what my life would be like if I hadn't joined.  The people here taught me that it was ok to be *me* and I will be forever grateful for that.
