It's a Chicago suburb, about 40 miles outside the city. It's a single library system. Where abouts are you located? As for taking it off list, feel free to email me directly if you'd like! :)On Fri, Aug 1, 2014 at 3:11 PM, Kirsten Brodbeck-Kenney <crowyhead@gmail.com> wrote:

I've wanted to be a librarian since I realized I wouldn't make enough to survive if I just got paid to read. And I've been in some pretty soul sucking fields of work. I think I'll be ok if they try to break me in that way. :)Awesome. :) Where are you located? Is it a big library system, or a small single library? I am so curious! (and I suppose I should probably take this off-list eventually, except I know we're not the only librarians, so…)Kirsten

First of all - congrats Carol! Second of all, no need to take it off-list on my account - I'm a librarian too! I work as a science librarian at Boston University in (you guessed it) Boston. I probably can't give you too much advice, because academic and public libraries can be very different in the way they operate, but if you want general advice or just to talk about library stuff, you're welcome to contact me off-list as well.
