Interestingly, the BNP and UKIP (UK Independence Party -- originally created to make us independent from the EU, now focusing on anti-immigration policies and, scarily, to my mind, at least, gaining British seats in the European Parliament) don't have issues with immigrants like me: white skin (too bad my Native American ancestry doesn't show in my skin colour and my African American ancestry is even further back :), native English speaker/writer, well educated, professional etc. They don't mind that I've 'stolen' jobs from native Brits. It's 'other' immigrants they don't like.

Being a Colonial, you probably count as British. Peter has inherited,
besides some skin color, some of his mother's Nigerian culture,
therefore imported.

Of course, all Brits are descended from immigrants at some time
post-Glacial.
