URGENT ACTION!

The day before elections immigrant families affected by S-Comm remind our elected officials of the need for a JUST immigration system!

Media contact:

Patricia Montes, Centro Presente

(617) 959 3198

When: Monday, November, 5th, 11:00 a.m.

Where: In front of the Massachusetts State House

Boston, MA- As part of the Just Communities/MA Trust Act campaign, immigrant families affected by S-Comm will gather the day before elections to remind elected officials of the need for a JUST immigration system. "We recognize that the Secure Communities Program is only one component of a larger problem with the U.S. Government's current "Enforcement Only" response to immigration in this country. During this election season there is much talk about democracy and freedom from our policy makers, but little discussion of how out of step our immigration system is with those values," said Patricia Montes, Executive Director of Centro Presente.
