I'm leaving again. Kinda.

That makes me want to fucking swear.

I'm killing the mail delivery from TH. There are a few reasons for this. The first is that life is starting to move a bit faster for me. I've loaded up on about umpteen time-sinking projects, and those are going to limit by ability to, as the Elder Bush said, recreate responsibly. If everything goes well, the next year or two are going to be just a little bit over the top when it comes to the personal stress levels.

Sounds like maybe you'll be joining me in the swearing soon.

The second is that this list, when it's cooking, is utterly addictive. The conversations demand our attention, and they punish inattention. I don't have the self-possession to avoid an interesting conversation when it's delivered to my inbox, so I simply need to make sure that you folks don't *get* delivered to my inbox for a while.

I think this sentence could have used a swear.

The third reason is that this list is ridiculously unpredictable. We can go from complete radio silence to 100+ messages per day at the drop of a hat-shaped excuse. Budgeting the time to give TH the attention it deserves is no longer a simple matter.

No longer a fucking simple matter?

Thanks to the magic of Google Groups, I'll still (nominally) be a list member, and I'll still be able to check in from time to time, but I won't be a regularly active participant.

My last break took twelve years. Please, folks, enjoy yourselves while I'm gone.

How can we enjoy ourselves if you're gone for twelve fucking years, again?

Matt
