Where did that come from? I rather like my sig line, and it's the
custom in a lot of e-mail places to have one.

I took Latin in High School, and I could count in Latin before I went to
Grade School, even though we weren't Catholic. In the old days when my
parents grew up it was the mark of the educated person to know Latin
well, but I'm not sure what inspired my mother to teach me to count in
it, but she was proud that I knew the syllables, and liked to show me
off to others. Much later, in my middle age, when I developed the
desire to learn _everything_ about Christianity, in all its branches, I
was especially interested in the Latin Mass, which includes the line
"Asperges me, Domine", literally "wash me, master", a request for a
blessing, sprinkling with Holy Water, (which contains some material
salt, as well as the imperceptible spiritual blessing). It is done with
a (usually) silver implement called an "aspergillum".

Probably the origin of Dr Asperger's surname had to do with the Mass in
some way or another: I don't know. On the surface level, it's only
coincidence, but sometimes it seems that there are no coincidences.
Only recently, about five years ago, did I learn that at least one of
the things that's made me a misfit all my life was congenital, shared
with a small number of other people, and that the name for my unusual
wiring was "Asperger's Syndrome," a subset of Autism. After that, very
recent for a 68 year (so far) life, I started learning everything that I
could about it in general, and am still doing so. I wanted a different
sig that the previous one I'd worn on my e-mail, and the pun or
connection seemed apropos. I don't know what makes it a "soliloquy",
but maybe it is: I do think that it describes me in several ways, and
it's personal to me. What do you have against it? I need all the
blessings I can get, and sometimes it seems as if the AS is a blessing
as well as a curse.

I still don't understand in what way I'm "FUCKING UP THIS LIST", though
some other people seem to agree with you. Since I don't understand what
that means, or what untoward things I've been doing (though others have
tried to tell me), I guess that means just one more indication that I
(whoever I am) am not wanted and should absent myself entirely.
