No. What you said was that Jehovah's Witnesses believe Michael and Jesus are the same person.

This is not true. They are separate beings. One is the heavenly version of the other. Also, this is a VERY small, insignificant part of the teachings.

I am not a Jehovah's Witness, never have been, and almost certainly never will be. But I want to note that the Watchtower Society's own website has this to say:

"At times, individuals are known by more than one name. For example, the patriarch Jacob is also known as Israel, and the apostle Peter, as Simon. (Genesis 49:1, 2; Matthew 10:2) Likewise, the Bible indicates that Michael is another name for Jesus Christ, before and after his life on earth."

I realize it is possible that this is only what they tell outsiders and people who are in the church may have a different understanding. But, in my opinion, Sibyl's understanding seems consistent with the religion's own website.

Jen says: I know that's on the site. But she's claiming she studied with them. My source on this is a bit better than either the site or the teaching of someone who isn't a member. T was a little prodigy in the JWs before he left. It's one of the reasons the rift with his parents was so huge. (And Mal, if you tell him I said this, I will kill you.)
