I had some great software (for the Mac) that I used to catalogue my
books, music, and movies (three separate apps using the same
structure, each tweaked a bit for the specific media), but
unfortunately they came out with a pay-only upgrade that automatically
upgraded... and is now holding all three collections hostage, as I'm a
bit short on cash these days. The apps are called Bookpedia,
CDpedia, and DVDpedia.

I recently had to delete about 180 books from my collection on
LibraryThing (http://www.librarything.com/home/ellyssian), as I wanted
to be able to add my own book to the collection, and it's a free
account with a 200 book limit.
