> Can it really be true that the last post to this list occurred on May 25? Is it possible that you folks, formerly the chattiest group of internet junkies I've run across in twenty years, have finally run out of anything to say?
Well, I've been trying to market matching colander and fluffy slipper
sets, but they haven't had as much appeal as you'd think.
We took Lucy up to Muhlenberg College for her advisory day. They do
these events beautifully, and even though they do them several times
(we were the fourth iteration), you feel as if you're the
first-and-only one. We heard several speakers with our students and
without--one of whom talked to us about parenting first time college
students. She had a lot of insight. Lucy had a pre advisory session
with the Academic Research Center--they flagged her ADHD and got a ton
of useful information. Then she saw her adviser and got her tentative
fall semester set up. She plans to double major in neuroscience and
math.
Then it was off to the college president's house for a reception where
she introduced us to the president (who is really remarkable) and
signed the Matriculation Ledger, making her an official student.
I am very pleased with where she is going. She'll have many
opportunities to shine, and it's an incredibly supportive environment.
In other news, I started CPAP therapy (is THAT what "rested" is
supposed to feel like?) and we're trying to rescue our house from
turning into an episode of Hoarders. That's about it.
