Immigrant Worker Center Collaborative

SEEKING FULL-TIME COORDINATOR

The goal of the Immigrant Worker Center Collaborative (IWCC) is to unite and strengthen worker centers to organize for immigrant worker rights and develop the leadership of immigrant workers on the job and in society.     

New England regional collaborative of diverse worker centers organizing immigrant workers, established in 2005, seeks a full-time coordinator with organizing experience, familiarity with immigrant communities, and the ability to provide facilitative leadership and play an organizing role working with the member worker centers of the collaborative.

Responsibilities

·         Strengthening the role and relationship of individual worker centers to the collaborative

·         Organizational administration and membership development

·         Coordinating and facilitating meetings and internal communications

·         Coordination of trainings, resource sharing, and peer learning to support workplace organizing

·         Development of a solidarity network and infrastructure for actions and campaigns

·         Supporting worker centers to develop collective campaigns for broader impact

·         Coordination of solidarity actions and common campaigns

·         Building IWCC's relationship to local, regional and national networks and coalitions, based in the work of the member groups

·         Assisting with organizational fundraising

Experience/Qualifications

·         Strong communication and facilitation skills

·         Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred, other languages a plus

·         Familiarity with immigrant communities, experience as immigrant worker preferred

·         Community or labor organizing experience

·         Self-starting, accountable, flexible and energetic

·         Able to work in a collaborative with diverse organizational needs, different cultural backgrounds, and in a multilingual setting

·         Basic computer literacy required, additional skills a plus

·         Able to work some evenings or weekends

·         Driver's license a plus

Compensation

$45,000-$55,000 plus health benefits and generous holidays
