My celebrity encounters are all music related. Here's a few that I
can think of the top of my head... mostly rock/heavy metal
musicians...

Bumped into Bobby Blotzer, drummer for the band Ratt. He apologized
over and over, to the point that I was starting to get annoyed. Then
I saw a crowd of people form around him, and I looked back, read his
nametag, and realized who he was.

Was hanging around talking with guitarist Joey Tafola and his band,
and it turned out his vocalist couldn't get in. They borrowed my name
tag, and Mark Boals (who also sang with Yngwie J. Malmsteen) got into
the show using my name.

I was trying out a custom hand-made guitar, had my head down and was
just jamming out playing some of my tunes, and I realized someone was
standing there. Looked up and guitarist Vivian Campbell (Dio, then
Whitensake, later Def Leppard) told me it was a cool riff. Talked
with him and his wife for a bit after that.

Talked with Chick Corea, and he steered the conversation to my music.
Incredible, brilliant guy, and just inspiring to talk with.

Hung out with Stu Hamm (bass for Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and so on)
for a while. Talked very briefly with Oz Fox (Stryper), Billy Sheehan
(David Lee Roth), Joe Satriani, William Kanengiser (Los Angeles Guitar
Quartet, Ralph Macchio's classical guitar double in the non-Britney
Spears movie Crossroads), and a few dozen others who were big in the
late 80's music scene in LA.

Grew to despise Michael Anthony (Van Halen, now Chickenfoot). Didn't
much like him to begin with, but my boss insisted I wait and get his
autograph for the music store. Stood for over a half hour less than
3 feet from him, until his handlers decided a suitable crowd had
built.

Hung out in the dressing room with The Pandoras.

Stole a girlfriend from Pat Badger (Extreme). He thanked me for that
later, and we commiserated on the misery.

Made my on-stage debut moments after being introduced to the guy who
John Williams consulted with and who played the percussion on Indiana
Jones and the Temple of Doom. Ended up with him playing percussion
with me.

Talked songwriting with Brian Ross (Blitzkrieg), who was one of Lars
Ulrich's (Metallica) biggest influences. Introduced him to the band
Artch. When Artch covered Judas Priest's Electric Eye, Brian sang
along.

Spent a couple of days with the guys from Diamond Head (another big
Metallica influence).

Blaze Bayley (Wolfsbane, Iron Maiden) wanted to get his picture taken
with me. Also used my marker to create the setlist.
