I've not had a doughnut in years. And I do mean years -- as in at least twenty or more years. Bagels, yes. Doughnuts, no.
And doughnut beer? Ugh. But I do love Pyramid Brewing Company and their apricot ale. We used to get that in Colorado, and when I've visited there, I've had it again. I know that Pyramid is based in Seattle, but they have a branch in Portland, so they're sort of local. (Yeah, I admit it. I'm a fruity beer person. I love Belgian fruity ales.)
So, yes, I'd love to travel to one of Pyramid's homes. But I was filled with relief today that I worked out a deal with the mortgage company that means we can keep the house AND buy groceries. Oh, and also pay the council tax, put some money on the electricity bill, keep our internet connection at home etc. So, go me! But I'm still having trouble sleeping. I went to sleep right away at 10pm, but I'm awake now. It's probably leftover stress...
And flying anywhere, let alone to the US, is still out of the question. And by let alone to the US, I mean that flights to the US are ridiculously expensive nowadays, even out of season. I remember when I first moved here, in 2000, we were able to get fares of £250 each to fly non-stop to Philadelphia around Christmas. Now, we'd be lucky to pay twice that. :(
