The only time I've had luggage go astray was when flying through Heathrow - but it wasn't 'lost' - they knew exactly where it was. Just not on the correct flight - my flight. Then when they put it on the next flight to meet me in LA, they loaded it on a LA flight that landed in Phoenix first, so it got offloaded with everyone else's to go through Customs and Immigration but didn't get loaded back on again to continue to LA .... and had to be trucked by Fedex to reach me at my cruise ship barely in time!

So far my worst airport experience prize goes to Heathrow. So I guess we'll see if your ones can wrest it away . ;)
Heathrow's been in the news lately for three-hour waits to get through passport control (at arrivals), and there are fears those queues could become four hours long this summer during the Olympics. :(

Man. Horrible. When we went through Heathrow going into England, they lost our luggage, and tried to blame Johannesburg airport. I had to point out that I'd been flying through Joburg several times a year for almost a decade at that point, and they'd never lost my luggage before.
Also the (literally) PILES of lost luggage along the walls kind of put the lie to the idea that it was someone else's fault. It kind of pissed me off - like they thought they could palm it off onto the "silly third world Africans". Hmph.
