Guys. Here is the official update for our GaTHering in Portland the first week of August this year: We have only 12 room nights out of 40 booked. If I cancel right now, I will owe them $1500. If I wait and hope more people actually book their rooms late, it will cost more like $3000.
I have just got my visa and bought my air tickets! I'll be booking at the end of this week when I have topped up my savings account. My plan is to book for three nights. I realise that doesn't help that much, but there it is anyway.
What about the rest of you???! If I can figure this out from New Zealand, so can you! ;P

"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Ralph Waldo Emerson.
