There is, (perhaps unsurprisingly) a big overlap between local morris
dancing people and Portland Christmas Revels people, and since I've
performed in the Revels twice, I know a lot of morris people here. I
also sometimes see them at ren fairs, since I sing in a madrigal group,
and morris dancers sometimes perform at the same fairs.
I've considered joining a morris troupe, but singing commitments have so
far taken precedence. Also, I worry about my coordination when I have to
move both my arms and my legs; I've done fine with Irish dance, but that
requires little arm movement.
