Hear you. :-( The field behind my house is already yellow and soon tractors will come to remove the dry grasses to prepare for LAG BAOMER bonfires. Strangely enough there's still a light rain today, but it's. probably, the last or one of the lasts till mid September or may be even October. I miss summer rains. :-(

Come to England. We had summer in March -- sunshine and temperatures in 20s C. April indeed was filled with April showers, and the pouring rain is continuing into May. There's been flooding in various areas, but we're still in a drought.

A drought in England is very different from one in the Sudan or even one in Colorado. Did you all hear about the bear by Williams Village -- part of the University of Colorado campus in Boulder -- last week? That's what happens in a drought there. When they have a dry winter without a lot of snow, then there's a drought in the summer, as the moisture from the snow has to last all year. They fear more bears will be visiting the city this summer in search of food. It's unusual for them to start coming down from the mountains this early, but a very snowy February was followed by a dry March and April, so the snowpack is low, from what I hear. :(
