In my case, it's more the insanity of work lately. I've been deluged by coursework and mock exams to mark. I spent a good bulk of my recent holiday marking -- and lesson planning, as this week is the English department's internal inspection. I knew I could be seen on Monday, so I wound up working on the extremely detailed Ofsted-style lesson plans now required for internal inspections (they're thinking Ofsted will arrive any week now -- we're overdue) for Monday and Tuesday late last week.

I suppose the stress paid off because I was awarded a 1, the top grade, outstanding. As we've been told that ones are more difficult to get this year, just as they are with Ofsted now, I suppose I should be very happy. I am, but I'm more tired than thrilled.
