Thanks. I hadn't seen that.
Lee's not entirely wrong. It is, after all, impossible to have no sympathy for anyone who despises Top Gear. Their calculated loutishness and sophomoric schtick get fairly intensely old after about three minutes. On the other hand, I have more sympathy for those overpaid louts than I do Lee's act. His righteousness is at least as intolerable as Top Gear's boorishness. That's only an initial impression, of course. I'll have to watch at least the rest of that routine. Soon.
I also have a bit of a cognitive weakness that prevents me from understanding entirely how (HOW? HOW IN THE NAME OF GOD?) anyone could be motivated enough by Top Gear to craft that comprehensive a rant. That show seems loud enough, offensive enough, and brightly colored enough to confuse people into thinking they're still watching a commercial aimed at quite lonely ten year old boys. The proper response when you've discovered you've accidentally watched a bit of it is to snort while you jab at the channel button. Actually *caring* about it seems a bit strong. My only thought is that poor man must have spent far too much time trapped in hotel rooms with lousy cable.
