They'd also have to turn off all radios, never look at newspapers, never walk into a bookshop (we still have those, y'know ;) etc.
Top Gear and its presenters are BIG over here, and it's more than just Top Gear. They also present other shows as well, guest on more, are in TV ads for various companies (such as Morrisons, as referenced in Lee's piece -- never shop there!), write books, have lots of media presented/written about them etc.
