We found a cake recipe in a newspaper for a chocky wedding cake. I think it
was from the Drake Hotel in Chicago, but I'm not certain. The recipe was a
scaled down, make-at-home, non-wedding cake version. We gave it to our
friend's sister and she scaled it up and made the cake in the picture. I
don't know why, but we didn't keep a copy of the recipe so it's lost to us.

Thanks to a blizzard a few days before, only about 80 people came to the
wedding, so not all of the cake was eaten. In addition to the top layer
(the save-for-first-anniversary layer), the entire bottom layer was
untouched.

The snow giants liked me that year.
