CJ, my partner, has been called for jury duty nearly every year of our
20+, and always sends a declination based on her mental health
disability, which will never change. I have been called once. I don't
even know what they base their call on.

I am the jury duty queen of my family. I get the damn card every three
years on the dot, and I get picked every single time. I am 44 years
old, and have sat for 4 criminal trials, 3 of them homicides, 1 mind
numbingly boring civil case that lasted 6 weeks, and one memorable
stint on a grand jury that ended up lasting 11 months (although I only
had to go in 3 days a week for the last 7 months for that one). Marc
jokingly bought me a "legalize marajuana" tshirt to wear when I get the
next card, but Massachusetts decriminalized personal possession, so
even that probably won't save me. Actually, I've never tried to get
out of it- since it is my civic responsibilty and all- but honestly,
once was enough.
