Eons ago, it was common practice to lurk for a few months for just that
reason. I think with a group like this, it's especially important. It's been
around for over 15 years, and the group dynamics, history, jokes, and such all
play into an orderly, swirling chaos. Jumping right in without list context
can only lead to the mountains of madness.
