Cold Fever is from the '90s. It's Icelandic, but it starts in Japan. A young Japanese businessman is guilted by his grandfather to travel to Iceland to perform a ceremony in tribute to his parents who died in an accident there. Of course, it's winter, and our young man has scheduled a two-week holiday in Hawaii becasue, as he says, he hates the cold in Tokyo in the winter.
He winds up going to Iceland instead, at his grandfather's urging. The film is a road movie about his (mis)adventures once he arrives in Iceland and wends his way to the remote part of the country where his parents died.
