Sounds like some of the villages around us, with a bus and a calendar rather than a timetable/schedule for it. And all of the animals on the roads delay the bus anyway.
Luckily, there's a train within walking distance from our house, which I'll be leaving to catch soon. (I'll open up my arms very wide to catch that train. ;) It's only a spur that runs back and forth to a main line station in a nearby village, but from there are trains to all sorts of destinations. (But none to neither of the centres of the universe mentioned here. However, there are trains to London, which seems to be the centre of the universe right now, what with the Olympics. And trains to Weymouth also, with more Olympic events.)
The court doesn't like to pay for parking, so I'm taking two trains to jury duty instead of driving. Plus, the New Forest Show (think big county/state fair in the US) is on this week, so traffic is horrible. The train seems easier.
